The current model of the Charger has been around for quite some time already and the 2016 Dodge Charger model is only going to make the car better. It will also be the first model that will introduce another type of V8 as the most powerful engine in the range and it will also up the stakes a bit when it comes to the interior comfort and luxury.
The 2016 Dodge Charger will most likely be based on the Quattroporte platform with a modified suspension that will better suit the US market. This model will have a completely different front running gear that will make the car more comfortable on the highway as well as the open roads. We could hear from many sources that it will be a real shame to change suspension settings since we know that many European cars do have much better suspension settings.
Dodge Charger Back
As we said at the start, the new Charger will feature a few new engines and the base model will come with 3.6 liter V6 naturally aspirated unit. This will be able to provide around 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque with a combined fuel consumption of around 32 MPG which make it one of the most economical engines in its class. Further up we’ll see the 5.7 liter V8 be replaced with what will probably be a 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 that will be able to provide around 380 to 400 horsepower and as much as 400 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful engine in them all though will be the 6.2 liter Supercharged Hemi with just over 700 horsepower that will be sold along the smaller but equally impressive 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 with just over 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque.
2016 Dodge Charger Coupe
Performance wise we can expect that even the lowest powered Charger to be able to get from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 6 seconds and to reach top speed of 155 MPH. The more powerful versions will be able to get to around 190 MPH which is quite impressive for such a large car. Level of performances will allow you to drive this vehicle on both public roads and on the track and even to shame many much more expensive supercars.
2016 Dodge Charger SRT HellCat
The transmission will also be quite unique to this car because there are both rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive setups available. Unfortunately, the most powerful versions will most likely be available just with the rear wheel drive one and an 8 speed automatic. Those drivers that want full control over their car will certainly take the manual transmission.
2016 Dodge Charger Interior
The exterior will also be quite a bit different to that of the current car. It will still look like a muscle car but it will have more striking curves in order to make it more aggressive than before. Also, because it will use LED both in the front and back it will look just a bit more up to date. Wheels will probably be the same 18 and 19 inches old school ones that we all love while the tires will get an improvement in the form of the high performance Pirelli.
2016 Dodge Charger Price And Release Date
Price for the new 2016 Dodge Charger is expected to start at around $35,000 and it will go up to around $90,000 for the fully equipped top of the line model which is quite steep but it will offer a lot for the money. It will be available for sale somewhere at the end of 2015 or at the start of 2016.
