The Challenger has always been a great car with awesome engines and great looks but it sometimes lacked what people called, grunt! Sure, it was powerful but because of the mushy suspension it never drove that great. This is one of the things that have been improved with the latest redesign and the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will certainly benefit from it.
Latest generation offers improved suspension system that is great and can handle the car pretty well making out of it a driver’s car. The latest model is no exception but because the engines in it we could see it significantly in front of Mustang.
2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Engine
Just like it was the case with the 2015th model we are getting powerful engines in the lineup. These units will come to standard Challenger but the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is going to be a beast with the amount of power that has not been seen in muscle cars till today!
Specs Of 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat
Engine wise, the car will most likely be powered by the same engine that is also found on the Charger Hellcat. This means that the 6.2 liter V8 is going to be supercharged to around 707 horsepower and at least 650 lb-ft of torque making it a beast! This will be mated to a 6 speed automatic that will drive the rear wheels with the help of a limited slip differential making it the perfect car for drag racing! Main problem is the lack of traction but this amount of power will allow it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than 4 seconds.
2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Interior
On the interior you will find all the great things people love about a Challenger. You will be met by a fully leather interior with electrically heated and ventilated seats, leather dashboard with aluminum or carbon fiber dashboard and a satellite navigation system. The audio system is a surround one with a subwoofer tucked beneath the rear seats. Other interior options include a much better climate control system and also a heads-up display.
Exterior wise we don’t know much about it yet but Dodge has confirmed that the car will get a slightly revised body kit. This will not only make it look better but it will also make the care much better at high speeds and it will help keep the power in check. The front and rear lights have now LED technology included in them and you will be able to get as an option red accents in the headlights. Don’t expect to get significant changes compared to still fresh 2015th model.
2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat
The new 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will sit on 20 inch wheels with high performance tires supplied by Pirelli. These are the same found on the more expensive Corvette and other supercars. You will need to be very careful with the gas pedal since all that power will quickly tear up those expensive performance tires.
2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Price
There is a small possibility that the car will feature all-wheel drive and an 8 speed automatic but Dodge hasn’t tested the system yet for this amount of power and torque. If you’d like the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, then be ready to pay around $59,995 that is a base price for a 2015th model and we do not expect it to change significantly. It will be ready to be sold on the market somewhere at the end of 2015.
