Base 2015 Ford Mustang engine is the 3.7 liter V6 pumping out 300 hp optional is the all-new 2.3 liter EcoBoost powerplant that also comes with 300 hp and top of the line is the 5.0 liter V8 with 435 hp. The 2015 Dodge Challenger on the other hand comes with wider range of engine options. It starts similarly to Mustang with 3.6 liter V6 and 305 hp and continues with 5.7 liter HEMI V8 that produces 375 hp. Other options include 6.4 liter HEMI V8 with impressive 485 hp and SRT model with more than 600 hp but top of the line is the SRT8 model with incredible 707 hp thankfully to the supercharger.
Comparison Of Challenger And Mustang
Another important segment in which these two will be compared is the price. As a part of the same segment they need to be offered with quite similar price tags. Base price of Mustang is set to $23,600 while the Challenger stars from $26,995. Depending on the trim level and engine that you choose prices will go significantly higher. Expect these models to be often seen on the streets as the release date approaches.

On the higher trims Challenger has significant advantage in power but Mustang is slightly cheaper. Those that want more retro look will probably go for Challenger but those looking for modern and slick lines could rather opt for the Mustang.
