2016 Infiniti QX60 Review And Changes

The 2016 Infiniti QX60 is going to get a small refresh in 2016 which will add to the car better interior equipment compared to the previous generation. Furthermore progress will be offered with improved powertrain that Infiniti says to be more fuel efficient than the previous generation while keeping the same performance level and since the fuel economy has become the most important factor when buying new cars this certainly will attract more buyers to the model and brand.

On top of these changes, the hybrid drivetrain is going to get small changes. It will receive a slightly larger battery that is said to improve all electric drive range by a few miles, so it will also deliver a better fuel consumption than before. The off-road driving experience should also be improved thanks to the addition of electronic differentials both in the front and back. These should distribute torque to the wheel that has the most grip in order to get you out of any sticky situation.

The next QX60 will probably keep its price on same level, so expect to pay from $42,000 to $43,000 for the base version with the petrol engine. If you want to get this model with all-wheel drive system you will need to give about $1,400 more. The hybrid should be a bit more expensive at roughly $45,500$ but will be able to provide better fuel efficiency. Both of these models will be released at the end of 2015 as the 2016 models and in the next few months we expect to see some additional details about both versions.

As we said before, engine wise, the QX60 will be available with two engine choices. The first is a 3.5 liter V6 from Nissan that is able to provide up to 260 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. This engine is available with a CVT automatic gearbox that sends all of its power either to the front wheels or to all of them with the help of the all-wheel drive system. This model will be able to return 21/27 mpg city/highway and decent performances.

The other option is a hybrid drivetrain that boasts a 2.5 liter supercharged petrol engine and a 20 horsepower electric motor. Combined, it will provide up to 250 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque, so roughly the same performance as the V6 with almost 20% better fuel consumption. Transmission wise you will get the same unit that is also found on the V6. Expect 26/28 mpg city/highway and 27 mpg combined which is quite good for a large luxury vehicle.

In the interior of the new 2016 Infiniti QX60 we will see better materials than before. The ugly cloth upholstery has been replaced with Alcantara even on the base model while the premium ones now get genuine leather interior. Thanks to the fact that this is a car based on the Murano, interior space is vast and up to seven people can fit comfortably. They will have a great time inside thanks to the triple zone climate control and the infotainment system that has 5 screens.

Changes For 2016 Infiniti QX60

Exterior wise there won’t be any changes. There will be added a new set of 20 inch rims that will fit the car better and also a new body kit for the hybrid version that is said to reduce running noise by a big margin and that will also increase fuel economy slightly. There is no doubt that even with these small changes overall, the 2016 Infiniti QX60 will be a much better car and if you are looking for a large luxury vehicle this is certainly one of the best choices on the segment.
