The Mustang already reached its sixth generation so you would expect it to be a well sorted and pretty much a perfect car. Well, you wouldn’t be that far from the truth considering this new 2016 Ford Mustang is going to be an improved version of the already pretty much perfect 2015 model. After recent redesign we do not expect to see revolutionary improvements, just a few nice tweaks.
The new model is going to feature the same engines but with a twist. The 3.7 liter V6 is going to get a new exhaust and intake system that will not significantly change the power delivery but it will lower fuel consumption by couple percent. On top of all these changes, the new Mustang will also get new versions like the GT350 and the GT500. Both of these cars will feature V8 engines but more on that later.
2016 Ford Mustang
On the exterior of the 2016 Ford Mustang, the new model of the car will be pretty much unchanged with a few exceptions. Firstly, both the GT350 and the GT500 will feature unique body kits that will give the car a much more aggressive look. Also, thanks to the addition of a few sets of rims people will be able to make their car more unique and with the number of sold units this is quite important.
2016 Ford Mustang Release Date
Inside the car we will see the same quality and equipment levels as on the current Mustang. We will get leather interior even on the basic models while the top of the range models will get sportier seats with better lateral support as well as a higher resistance to impact. Better support is something that you will certainly need if you are planning to ride it on the track and push it hard through corners.
Ford Mustang Side
The running gear of the car will also be changed but only on the GT350, GT500 and the GT models. The least amount of changes will be on the 2016 Ford Mustang GT which will only get stiffer dampers. The other two on the other hand will feature much stiffer suspension, bigger front and rear brakes as well as improved chassis. The GT350 will be a track oriented car so expect it to perform brilliantly.
Specs Of 2016 Ford Mustang
Engine wise, the 2016 Ford Mustang will feature the same three engine options as those of the current model. These range from 2.3 liter I4 for the turbocharged EcoBoost to 5.0 liter for the V8. Power ranges from 300 horsepower for the 3.7 liter V6 to around 435 horsepower for the V8. The news comes in the engines for the two new models. The GT350 will most likely bring a brand new 5.0 liter V8 that will rev to around 9000 RPM. Power for this unit will be around the 520 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. The GT500 will most likely receive the 5.8 liter supercharged V8 with around 700 horsepower. Without a doubt this will be one of the most powerful muscle cars on the market.
2016 Ford Mustang Interior
Transmission wise, all the cars will come with an automatic transmission as standard except the GT350 which will receive a 6 speed manual that is just better than the automatic one. We know that many drivers will want better control that manual transmission brings. The price for the 2016 model will be around the $24,000 mark for the base model while the GT350 and the GT500 will be around the $50,000 and $70,000 mark and both of them will be released in the summer of 2015.
