The Escalade is one of the iconic SUVs on the market, with a flashy design and one of the most luxurious interiors money can buy. The model has been around for quite some time and in 2015 it was offered as an all new model, it was the right moment for GM to release a new version to replace their aging Escalade. The 2016 Cadillac Escalade is a carryover vehicle but offers many improvements even first model in this generation was introduced recently. While the performance of the car isn’t exactly the main selling point, it should behave better on the road and off it thanks to a new magnetic ride control system which will keep the car leveled on pretty much any surface out there.
Among its rivals, the 2016 Cadillac Escalade remains one of the few cars which still has a body on frame construction, meaning that it still has one of the biggest towing ratings out there, being capable of pulling up to 8,200 pounds safely. This can come in handy for someone owning a boat and has the need to tow things.
2016 Cadillac Escalade Price
Just as we previously said, the 2016 Cadillac Escalade comes with naturally aspirated 6.2 liter V8 engine which is good for 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, more than enough to haul that big mass quite easy. Thanks to this engine the car is able to get to 60 MPH in just 5.6 seconds which is mighty impressive considering its total weight. This is mostly thanks to its new 8 speed automatic gearbox which came with new generation and is also smoother as well as faster than the old 6 speed version. Also thanks to this new transmission, the car is able to keep the engine at the maximum torque level for a lot longer. There is however a massive drawback with this large powerplant, its fuel consumption which is probably the worse in the business. The rated fuel consumption by the EPA for the rear wheel drive model is around 18 MPG which is okay but take into account that this will drop to around 14 MPG on average under real world usage.
2016 Cadillac Escalade
This might be improved in the future with the introduction of a new 3.6 liter turbocharged engine which would provide a similar amount of power to the V8 but with a much better fuel consumption. We are likely going to see this engine starting with 2017. Another thing that could also improve fuel efficiency is the introduction of hybrid version but that is still only in rumor mill.
2016 Cadillac Escalade Interior
On the interior, the 2016 Cadillac Escalade remained just as impressive as before. While the design is quite similar to some other models from Cadillac, the amount of space inside the cabin is incredible. There are only four seats on the base model which may seem like a waste of space but take into account that this is a luxury model, so while there are only four seats, the space available for them is better than pretty much anything else on market. All of the four seats are offered with electric controls, heating and ventilation, dedicated infotainment systems as well as a triple zone automatic climate control, all as standard. Options include an electric sunroof, a better audio system with two dedicated subwoofers as well as an automatic cruise control system.
Release Date Of 2016 Cadillac Escalade
It has been released back in March 2015 and it should become available for sale by the end of June 2015 when it will come on the market and will be available for a price of $74,000 which isn’t exactly a bargain. However, for the price of 2016 Cadillac Escalade you get one of the most recognized cars in the World as well as one of the more luxurious SUVs out there.
Cadillac Escalade Back
Its exterior on the other hand has been redesigned in order to look even flashier than before. This isn’t all that bad because the car manages to make that flashy look cool, with a massive front grille, 22 inch chromed wheels as well as dual exhaust pipes at the back, all of which make an iconic design that can be recognized by pretty much anyone. Aggressive yet refined 2016 Cadillac Escalade will again easily attract many people with its size and shear power.
