The 2015 Outback comes with a choice of two DOHC-aluminum alloy engines. The 2.5 liter 4 cylinder or 3.6 liter 6 cylinder engine. The 2.5 liter engine is a 16 valve engine with Dual Active Valve Control system and is based on a horizontally opposed cylinder system characteristic Subaru’s Boxer engine design. This offers minimal engine vibration and a lower center of gravity. The 2.5 liter engine produces 175 Horsepower at 5,800 RPM and generates 174 lbs per ft of torque at just 4,000 rpm. Its average consumption rating is at 30 mpg, 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The bigger 3.6 liter is a 24-Valve 6 cylinder Subaru Boxer engine also has Dual Active Valve Control System. It generates 256 Horsepower at 6,000 rpm and is capable of 247 lbs per ft of Torque at 4,400 rpm. All this comes with an average consumption rating at 24 mpg, 27 mpg on the highway and 20 mpg within the city.

The 2015 Outback comes four choices depending on the Trim level you prefer, the 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i and 3.6i Limited versions. The starting price is at $24,895 going all the way up to $32,995 for the 3.6i Limited version.
