The Subaru BRZ has been around since 2012 and until now it had mixed reviews about its performance. Many people thought that it was powerful enough to have a good time in it while others just thought that the car felt sluggish and quite underpowered, this should be solved with introduction of 2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo.
It was quite obvious that it does not offer enough power especially when considering the fact that there are cars like the Fiesta RS that are simply faster than it, both on the street and on the track. This is only one vehicle of many in similar category that will offer much better performance.
2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo Price
This is the main reason why Subaru is thinking of releasing a new iteration of this model, the 2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo. It is going to be the turbocharged and faster version of the BRZ and as the name suggests, it will have a much anticipated turbocharged engine rather than the less powerful naturally aspirated one. Price for this new model has yet to be announced but we expect it to cost anything from $28,000 to $30,000 while the market availability will probably start somewhere in the spring of 2015.
2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo
Let’s start with what might come under the hood of the new 2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo. Because Subaru hasn’t announced anything for sure just yet, some people say that there might be the same engine as in the STI, a 2.5 liter turbocharged boxer but this would be just too heavy for the little BRZ. There is though a high possibility that it will receive an engine that is already found on the Japanese market. This 2 liter turbocharged boxer 4 will be good for up to 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque and because it is already found in certain cars, we can even check their performance.
Subaru BRZ Turbo Side
This engine will most likely be mated to a 6 speed manual transmission that will be coupled to the rear wheels with a limited slip differential. Thanks to the new engine, the 2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo will be capable of a top speed of nearly 150 MPH and acceleration from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 6 seconds making for quite a fast little car. This certainly is improvement over 6.8 seconds that manual naturally aspirated version can return.
Specs Of 2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo
Inside we will probably get an improved version of the current interior with sportier seats made by Recaro, a steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and also pretty much all the interior equipment as standard. The 2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo will feature climate control, a satellite navigation system as well as an improved audio system with a subwoofer as standard features. The car might also receive a panoramic roof that will be able to auto-dim itself in order to protect the passengers from the sun.
2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo Interior
The exterior on the other hand will be quite a bit flashier than the current generation. It will strongly resemble the one found on the STI concept, so expect a big rear spoiler, new side skirts with black accents as well as new front and rear bumpers that will not only include black accents for styling but also a new exhaust system at the back and different intake pattern on the grille of 2015 Subaru BRZ Turbo for better cooling and less drag at high speed.
