After last year’s mild refresh, 2015 Kia Sportage enters market unchanged as a carryover. This compact crossover might not be the best choice in areas where it should be best like fuel efficiency, but it has its moments in most unlikely of segments as it is a great fun to drive.
Available in LX, EX and SX trim levels, Sportage offers two powertrain options to choose from. Base engine can be had with first couple of grades and 2.4L I-4 can develop up to 182 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Fun starts with SX model which benefits from a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine which makes 260 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. No matter which of these models you choose, electronically controlled 6-speed automatic transmission is your only option. To top it all, 2015 Kia Sportage offers both front-wheel and optional all-wheel drive system.
2015 Kia Sportage Engine
Korean manufacturer’s compact SUV is one of the best-looking ones in the segment. Front radiator grille can be had with mesh or bars, while lower air intake is split in two. Long and thin parallelogram headlights fit right in with the grille and pronounced wheel arches. Back end of 2015 Kia Sportage has a big set of tail-lights and another pair of big fenders.
2015 Kia Sportage Review
As far as interior is concerned, small crossover offers enough space all over, besides maybe in rear legroom department. Materials are of solid quality, and even though you won’t find wood or chrome touches, you’ll still get leather covering for door panels. Seats are made of cloth, but leather seats are available in top two trims. Dashboard is round and curvy with 7-inch color touch screen display in the middle of it, tucked slightly inside. However, entry model 2015 Kia Sportage doesn’t get one and EX has it as an option which leaves only SX model with standard 7-incher. Infinity surround system with subwoofer, external amplifier and HD radio capability is standard on latter couple of models which also get standard heated front seats and optional ventilated ones.
Beside all standard safety features, 2015 Kia Sportage owners will get hill-start assist and downhill brake assist, while rear parking sensors and rearview camera will have to be paid additionally. Without a doubt this is a great offer from Kia and most drivers will appreciate the fact these features are added or optional.

Kia Sportage Back
The 2015 Kia Sportage offers fun ride and good handling which aren’t always compact SUV’s strengths. In addition, it has fine design throughout and comes at somewhat affordable price which can sadly soar quickly with the most exciting SX model but even then it is still pretty great choice on the market. Best evaluation we will give as soon as we get one vehicle to test it and we do expect this to happen right after the launch that should be before the end of this year.
