Ford Galaxy, a large MPV that was introduced back in 1995 is currently heading towards the end of its third generation with 2015 Ford Galaxy. The longest lasting generation will reach tenth jubilee year and after that, Ford will reveal a new model which will go on sale late in 2015 as a 2016 year model.
For now, Galaxy will be carried over one last time. Euro MPV is available with couple of petrol and three diesel engines. Petrol ones are 1.6L I-4 and 2.0L I-4 which make 160 and 200 horsepower respectively. Transmission comes as 6-speed manual or power shift automatic and you can expect for smallest gasoline unit to return 41.5 mpg while the larger and more powerful unit returns 34 mpg.

More fuel-efficient diesel powertrains come in 1.6L, 2.0L and 2.2L forms and deliver between 115 and 197 horsepower. The 2.0 liter turbo diesel is offered with either 140 hp or 163 depending on the tune state of the engine. Best fuel economy is retuned with 1.6 liter diesel that combines start/stop system and offers 54.3 mpg. From 2.0 liter version you can expect to see 53.3 mpg while the 2.2 model offers 41.5 mpg and these are all quite impressive figures.
Ford Galaxy Back
Galaxy is very similar to S-Max, but is bigger and slightly more luxurious. Low nose front end has striped trapezoid grille and rectangular stripy lower air intake with triangular headlights which nicely blend in together. At the rear, large window, thin roof pillars and trapezoid tail-lights finish what is a practical and spacious people mover.
2015 Ford Galaxy Interior
This 7-seater is a bit more luxury-oriented than other Ford minivans, but it isn’t a true luxury car by a long shot. Leather seats are available, but heated seats are optional even in highest grades of 2015 Ford Galaxy, and so are ventilated seats. Dashboard is flat and has a very good looking design with busy instrument panel positioned just below the three circular air-vents and covered cubicle above them. Handbrake, shifter, small cubby, CD player and optional 7-inch touch screen display are all found in the aforementioned instrument panel and center stack. Rear seat DVD entertainment system with couple of LCD screens and infrared headphones can also be had as an option. European market dictates the terms in which all advanced features come as an option and Galaxy’s safety features are no different. Even cruise control is optional with base models, while blind spot information system and adaptive cruise control with forward alert and hill start assist are optional across the lineup.
2015 Ford Galaxy Interior
Petrol engines are rated at 33 and 29 mpg combined, while diesel powertrains return better numbers which span from 33 mpg to 45 mpg combined. Mind you, these are Euro-cycle ratings and US numbers would be lower. Prices start at $43,500 for entry level model and go all the way to $51,500 for the top grades. Optional equipment choices which are plenty, only raise the prices higher.
Review Of 2015 Ford Galaxy
The 2015 Ford Galaxy is a luxuriously priced and rated MPV in conventional skin. It has quite solid fuel efficiency with diesel engines, but its prices are exorbitant, especially considering the fact that many features have to be paid extra. Expect to see this vehicle delivered to the market in the next few months after which we will have even more information’s about it.
