Buick Encore is sold worldwide under number of different names and badges. In America it is moderately popular subcompact crossover. It shares some parts with Chevrolet Sonic, another subcompact vehicle, although it is really hard to notice any resemblance between these two. For a subcompact the 2015 Buick Encore offers great amount of luxury and it is one of rare vehicles in this class that offers all-wheel drive.
Its campaign is directed towards younger crowd but it is not as popular as some other Buick vehicles like LaCrosse or Buick Enclave. Encore’s main rivals are MINI Countryman and Fiat 500L, who are both smaller and come with less premium feel than this model.
2015 Buick Encore
Buick decided to give more aggressive design to Encore, which is also a nice trick to hide its boxiness. This model comes with big Buick grille, and from the front it kind looks like a bulldog, since designers tried to introduce some longer and more graceful lines into a subcompact vehicle. It rolls on the 18 inch alloy wheels and it comes with chrome-trimmed portholes on the flat pieces of the hood. If watched from the rear, it is hard to say that it is a Buick at all. It comes with bulky rear bumper that adds little bit more aggressiveness and long spoiler on top of the tailgate that makes this model look little bit longer.
Changes For 2015 Buick Encore
Interior looks nice, and by most of the online review community it has better design than the exterior. First thing that you notice when looking inside the cabin is really stylish two tone design, although there is a version that comes with all black interior. Dashboard comes with a lot of buttons and knobs and little bit of wood and metal accents. Although we are talking about subcompact vehicle, it is hard not to notice its spiciness, especially when it comes to leg and head room. Buick Encore can easily take 4 adult passengers, even for longer rides. Interior has really good sound-proof and higher-end audio system also adds up to the interior silence (at least when it comes to outside noise). This model comes with the functional Intellilink application that has a nice layout, it is streamlined and easy to use.
Buick Encore Back
Performance section is where 2015 Buick Encore lacks behind its class rivals. Although it offers all-wheel drive its four cylinder engine that can deliver 138 horsepower is simply not strong enough to support all that. This engine has 1.4 liter displacement, and with the help of turbocharger it also delivers 148 pound feet of torque. Although it looks small, this car is quite heavy, so the lightest model weighs 3,200 pounds which is simply too much for the 1.4 liter to give some impressive performance.
2015 Buick Encore Interior
Base price for the 2015 Buick Encore is $24,065. This price goes for the front wheel drive version and there is only one in the offer, all other higher trims come with all-wheel drive and for that you need to add $1,500 or more depending on the package you choose. Most expensive option is the “Door Leather” trim that comes with leather upholstery that spreads to some other interior elements like door trim for example and of course with all-wheel drive.
